Producing and marketing some 2 billion ELCO brand products every year, the largest and most productive enterprise in the Swiss market for envelopes and stationery was created in early 2007 in Brugg, canton Aargau, through the merger of two long-established companies, Seetal Schaller AG and Elco Papier AG.
The ELCO brand is exceptionally well known. 60% of the Swiss population can recall the brand unaided, and have purchased ELCO products for years. This is a remarkable asset in a relentlessly competitive market.
The great success of the ELCO brand, which is now over a century young, has prompted the management to adopt it as the company name with effect from 1 January 2011. Christian Wipf, Chairman of the Board of Directors, stresses that there will be no other changes besides the new name: “Our successful business model, our first-class products and our excellent service will all remain exactly as they are”. Following on from the recently completed extension to the high-bay warehouse, the name change is another important milestone in the company’s long and successful history.
